Pharmacological effects :

Studies have shown that hydroxycitric acid , the most important acid of the rind of the garcinia cambogia, is a competitive inhibitor of adenosine triphosphate citrate lyase, the enzyme that catalyzes the extramitochondrial cleavage of citrate to oxaloacetate and acetyl coenzyme A.

Hydroxy citric acid (HCA) inhibits ATP-Citratelyase in the conversion of human glucose to fat, prevents fatty acids from synthesizing, and inhibits the action of glycolytic action.

When food enters our body, carbohydrates are broken down into small molecules of glucose, which enter the bloodstream and become blood sugar, which is then sent to the cells of the body to be metabolized into energy. If glucose is not used immediately, it is stored in the liver or muscle to form glycogen (glycogen), but if the glycogen is already stored, glucose is converted to citric acid by glycolytic hydrolysis and citric acid cycle, and then ATP-lemon. Acid lyase catalyzes the synthesis into fat.

The HCA contained in the garcinia cambogia extract is a citric acid analogue that competes to inhibit the activity of ATP-citrate lyase, thus hindering the conversion of excess sugars into fat in the body. It has been found that within 8-12 hours after a meal HCA can reduce fatty acid synthesis by 40-70%.
